How do you build a Claude dashboard and use Claude Motion? Use official Claude Dashboards for connected business data and official Claude Motion for editable animations with MP4 export. Dashboards beta is available on Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise; Motion beta requires Team or Enterprise. For a website you own, a model API can help generate dashboard code, storyboards and animation prototypes that you run yourself. Token King offers a low-cost token gateway for that workflow. It does not grant access to official Claude templates or connectors.

Claude dashboard and Claude Motion: what does each do?
The official name is Claude Dashboards: connected-data dashboards with inspectable SQL and a refresh timestamp per chart. Motion animates text, charts, shapes and images through code; it does not generate realistic people or footage. See the announcement, Dashboards guide and Motion guide.
| Your task | Starting route | Acceptance check |
|---|---|---|
| Explore weekly signups and conversion | Official Dashboards with connected data | Definitions, query filters and freshness |
| Turn a report into a downloadable animation | Official Motion | Correct numbers, readable pacing, successful export |
| Build a dashboard for your own site | Model-generated code, hosted by you | Working code, clear data source, mobile usability |
| Prototype an SVG/CSS animation | Model-generated code, previewed by you | Correct scenes and reduced-motion support |
Choose by the deliverable: an artifact used inside an official Claude workspace, or code and assets for your own site. The second route puts data updates, deployment and video rendering in your workflow.
Which plans include them? Why is Motion missing on Pro?
| Official feature | Free | Pro / Max | Team / Enterprise |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dashboards template, beta | Not included | Included | Included, subject to organization controls |
| Motion template, beta | Not included | Not included | Included, subject to organization controls |
| Docs / Slides / Design templates | Included | Included | Included, subject to organization controls |
This compares template access, not model intelligence. Generating code does not demonstrate access to those templates. Check the official Artifacts matrix. Official features consume plan usage; gateway API usage has separate billing rules.
Missing entry point: check the plan and settings first
- Check your workspace and plan. A Pro user looking for Motion should start with the table, rather than rewriting the prompt.
- Enable the required capability. Artifacts require Cloud code execution and file creation in Settings → Capabilities, or Organization settings → Capabilities.
- Ask the organization owner to check template access. Team / Enterprise controls live under Organization settings → Artifacts. Enterprise defaults Dashboards and Motion off; custom roles can restrict access. See the admin guide.
- Start from Output or an Artifacts template. Connect your data for a dashboard; provide materials and a duration for an animation.
If the entry exists but results are wrong, inspect the input: available fields, date coverage, metric definitions and sources for every number. A longer prompt cannot repair missing data.
Official apps vs a low-cost Claude API gateway
| Decision | Official app workflow | Model API / Token King workflow |
|---|---|---|
| Where you request work | Official Claude workspace | A compatible client or your program |
| Data and execution | Supported connectors and app environment | You supply data and run generated code |
| Animation delivery | Motion offers MP4 export | Generated code or scripts; rendering is separate |
| Cost evaluation | Subscription, usage limits, organization conditions | Actual token usage, current rates, execution costs |
| Useful starting point | You want to deliver within an existing Claude workspace | You want your own page or prototype and can preview and deploy it |
Token King provides a model-access and token-billing route. Choose a currently available Claude model in its console for dashboard code, code fixes or storyboards. Check the console for endpoint instructions, model IDs, client compatibility and live rates. Gateway tokens do not unlock official Dashboards or Motion permissions.
Copyable example: a cost dashboard and a 15-second story
The following is an editorial sample with acceptance criteria, not a tested model output or performance promise. Validate a small dataset before connecting production data.

2026-08,1600,40
2026-09,2000,38
Step 1: generate a standalone HTML dashboard
This prototype task does not require the official Dashboards template. Submit the CSV with this prompt in your model client or API workflow:
Build one standalone HTML cost dashboard with this CSV embedded.
Use no external fonts, CDN, network requests or dependencies.
Show total requests, total cost, cost per 1,000 requests,
and a monthly bar chart. Include a month filter.
Recalculate every summary metric when the filter changes.
Cost per 1,000 = total cost / total requests * 1,000;
do not average the monthly ratios.
Show USD units, the date range and a "sample data" label.
Avoid page overflow on phones; include an accessible data table.
Return complete HTML only. Do not invent months or values.
Expected checks: 4,600 requests, $102 total cost and about $22.17 per 1,000 requests (102 ÷ 4,600 × 1,000). Filtering to September must change these to 2,000, $38 and $19. A chart that updates while summary cards stay unchanged has failed the test.
Step 2: create a storyboard from checked numbers
Create a 15-second cost recap with four scenes:
0–3s: "More requests, controlled costs" plus a sample-data label.
3–7s: July/August/September requests: 1000/1600/2000.
7–11s: matching costs: $24/$40/$38.
11–15s: September cost per 1,000 requests: $19;
remind the viewer to check output quality too.
Audience: nontechnical colleagues. Keep numbers readable.
Do not infer why costs changed or claim token savings.
Return a storyboard first. After approval, generate a
single-file SVG/CSS animation with reduced-motion support.
Do not generate realistic people.
For the official Motion route, submit the approved storyboard as an animation task and download through Export → MP4. For the API route, save and preview the generated code in your own environment; add a rendering workflow if you need MP4. Check clipping, spelling, values and the final frame in either route.
Calculate the cost of an accepted result
One short reply is not a project cost estimate. A dashboard may need a draft, bug fixes and interaction changes. An animation may add a storyboard and code revisions. Sum all rounds:
Model cost = Σ(input tokens / 1,000,000 × input rate
+ output tokens / 1,000,000 × output rate)
Delivery cost = model cost + data queries
+ hosting / rendering + human review
For 20,000 input and 8,000 output tokens in total, use the console’s per-million input rate P and output rate Q: 0.02P + 0.008Q. This is a calculation example, not a Token King quote. Include separate cache, tool or long-context charges where the actual billing rules require them.
- Reduce repeated input. Send field definitions and relevant aggregates rather than the full history every time. Daily or monthly totals are often the right starting point for a trend.
- Approve structure before long code. Ask for metric definitions or a storyboard before generating the final artifact.
- Request a specific change. Fix the filter function or second scene rather than regenerating everything. Keep versions for rollback.
- Compare models on the same task. Record model ID, tokens, charges, repair rounds and acceptance. Compare successful deliverables; a cheap failed output is not a cheap finished project.
Token King’s focus is low-cost token access, with model exploration starting in one console. Check current availability, trial-credit terms and rates there. This article claims no unverified price or percentage discount.
Claude dashboard and Claude Motion FAQ
Is Claude dashboard the API usage console?
This guide refers to the official Dashboards template. For balances, billing and request usage, open the console of the platform you use.
Is Claude Motion free, or available on Pro?
As of the source-check date, official Motion beta requires Team or Enterprise, rather than Free, Pro or Max. Token King trial tokens apply to its model service, not an official Motion subscription.
Can a Claude model generate animations?
You can ask for SVG/CSS animation code, then run and validate it. A code prototype is distinct from the official Motion editing, hosting and video-export workflow.
Do I need a database for my dashboard?
A fixed sample or public aggregate can start as a static page. Live business data, per-user access or database connections require appropriate backend and permission design. Keep database credentials and gateway API keys out of browser HTML.
Where can I try Claude models?
Open the Token King console, check the model and rate, follow its client setup instructions and start with the three-row example above. Existing users can use their accounts; trial credits depend on current console terms.
Official sources establish plan access and app behavior. The dataset, acceptance calculations, prompts and cost formula are original editorial examples. We have not run an end-to-end test of the official betas or a Token King model request. Related: GPT‑6.1 Sol pricing and API selection.
